Payment Sales and Support Consultant – Stellenbosch

Payments client needs sales and support consultant to:

  • Free up the existing CRMs to focus on onboarding and driving better value from high volume billers
  • Better service lower volume billers
  • Increase volumes incrementally from lower volume billers

• Taking responsibility for the following tasks pertaining to set of lower volume billers –
o New prospects – Respond to queries, send marketing material, distribution and processing of onboarding documents (Contracts/BRS/Specs/etc)
o Signing up and thereafter integrating new billers to the systems
o Training billers
o Driving billers to scale volumes by promoting various payment networks and using ‘low touch’ marketing strategies
o Support activated billers ito queries and technical requirements
o Monthly reporting & other communication to all billers under management (and possibly sending monthly newsletters to these biller)
o Assist with collection of payments where billers do not settle on time
• Working with the other functional areas to execute on the above tasks
• Build an optimal management framework for lower volume billers (this framework will need to serve over 100 billers on an ongoing basis which means a fair amount of automation will be required to optimise time available for all under management)
• Maintain / keep updated the CRM system tools for billers under management (including updating contact details, keeping up to date the bill issuer prospecting and existing biller action reports, etc)
• Maintain relevant documentation (eg agreements, specs, BRS, etc) for all billers under management
• Logging work requests for system enhancements (as and when these arise)
• Support of the marketing manager
• On an ad hoc basis the support of the other customer relationship management resources may be required
• Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activity
• Reporting monthly performance, task tracking, etc to management

• Tertiary qualification
• 3 years’ experience in the payments industry
• 3 years sales experience (ideally in the payments or banking industries)
• 3 years client relationship management or sales support experience
• Experience in marketing strategies, planning and execution will be beneficial
• The role will mostly be office bound but the candidate must have the ability to travel on an ad hoc basis, either locally (often using their own car) or elsewhere in the country.
